Dido and Aeneas by Henry Purcell (2016)

This masterpiece of Purcell's was originally written for high school students, but it is one of the most significant pieces in the history of English opera.
Aeneas, the Trojan hero, is shipwrecked on the shores of Carthage, and when he meets Dido, Queen of Carthage, they immediately fall in love. But the witches and the Sorceress, Dido's old enemies, plot a plan in order to separate the lovers and destroy the queen.
